About
About
Gaze is a serif typeface with soft details and dramatic modulation of thick and thin strokes, ideal for creating strong headlines.
The cheeky yet extravagant curves are inspired by vintage Indian book covers as well as traditional patterns seen on the doors of Indian castles and forts. It is a reflection of my personal notions and views of India. I initiated this project to celebrate my own background as an Indian immigrant to challenge stereotypical western views.
It is suited well for uses such as editorial design, posters, corporate design and advertising such as billboards. Curves extenuate a sense of elegance and extravagance, which is also very present within Indic scripts and the arts. The repetition of curves with each word typed creates a unique pattern, reminiscent of traditional Indian craftsmanship.
